AR in cardiology, as in other medicine fields, is no longer an object for study and discussion, but an indisputable component to successfully develop, improve the quality and efficiency of cardiological surgeries.
In fact, cardiac procedures are planned based on СT including contrast and 3D reconstruction of coronary arteries. During the procedure a doctor uses angiography or 2D imaging. He or she has to memorize the image in three dimensions and try to mentally compare it with the 2D image that he sees.
We are working on VOKA.CARDIO which allows to solve this problem using Microsoft HoloLens. AR glasses allow a surgeon to see a 3D image right before his or her eyes. Moreover, a doctor can manipulate 3D models using voice and gestures, and thus control the objects display in the projection needed.
