3D Model of Black's Classification
Black’s Classification of Caries Lesions is a system developed by Dr. G.V. Black to categorize the various types of dental caries based on their location and the surfaces of the teeth they affect. The classification is divided into five classes:
Class I: Caries in pits and fissures of molars, premolars, and incisors.
Class II: Caries on the proximal surfaces of molars and premolars.
Class III: Caries on the proximal surfaces of incisors and canines without involving the incisal edge.
Class IV: Caries on the proximal surfaces of incisors and canines involving the incisal edge.
Class V: Caries on the cervical third of the facial or lingual surfaces of any tooth. This classification helps dentists plan treatments based on the severity and location of the decay. You can explore how these caries develop and affect teeth in detail using our 3D model of Black's Classification of Caries Lesions.
